This Privacy Policy explains how ZodiacDNA (“ZodiacDNA”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use ZodiacDNA and related services. We act as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.
1. Data we collect
- Birth details you enter: name, date of birth and time of birth (and birth place, if we add that field). These are needed to calculate your Kundli.
- Account details: when you sign up or sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google’s confirmation that the email is verified. When you use your mobile number, we receive the number after you confirm it with a one-time code (OTP) sent by SMS. We do not create or store passwords.
- Profile details: the city you live in, and the birth details of the Kundli you were viewing when you signed up, saved to your account.
- Interests: the topics you were reading when you signed up (for example marriage timing, career or a particular dosha) and, if you arrived from an advertisement or campaign link, the campaign name.
- Usage data: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location from IP address, and preferences such as language and theme.
- Payment data: if paid services are introduced, payments are processed by a licensed Indian payment gateway. We do not store your full card or UPI details.
2. Why we use it
- To calculate and show your Kundli, predictions and remedies.
- To verify your identity, create and secure your account and remember your reports.
- To show you readings, reminders and offers relevant to the topics you were interested in, and to contact you about your report using the email or mobile number you verified.
- To send service messages, and, only with your separate consent, horoscope newsletters or offers.
- To improve accuracy and the website, using aggregated statistics.
- To meet legal obligations and prevent misuse.
3. Legal basis and consent
We process your data on the basis of your consent, given when you submit your details or create an account, and for legitimate uses permitted by the DPDP Act. You may withdraw consent at any time; this will not affect processing already done, but some features may stop working.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run ZodiacDNA, including Google (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, for sign-in, OTP SMS delivery and storing your account), and hosting, email, analytics and payment providers, under contracts that require them to protect it, or when required by law.
5. Storage and retention
Data is stored on servers located in India and other countries where our providers (Hostinger and Google Firebase) operate. We keep account data while your account is active, and delete it within 90 days of account deletion unless the law requires longer retention. Birth details entered without an account are kept only in your browser.
6. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), sign-in through Google Firebase Authentication (so we never handle passwords), database rules that let each user access only their own account record, access controls and regular reviews. If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
7. Your rights
- Access a summary of your personal data and how it is used.
- Correct, complete, update or erase your data.
- Withdraw consent and nominate another person to exercise your rights.
- Raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Children
ZodiacDNA is meant for users aged 18 and above. A parent or lawful guardian may create a Kundli for a child; we do not knowingly track or target advertising at children.
