What is the Navamsa (D9) chart?
Each sign of 30° is split into nine navamsas of 3°20′. Every planet’s navamsa falls in a sign, and those signs form the D9 chart. Astrologers say the birth chart is the tree and the navamsa is its fruit: it shows how promises in the main chart mature, especially in marriage and later life.
Vargottama planets
A planet in the same sign in both the birth chart and the navamsa is called vargottama. It is considered strong and gives reliable results. The calculator marks these for you.
How to read your D9
- The D9 Lagna and its lord describe your inner nature and married life.
- Venus (for everyone) and Jupiter (traditionally for women) are read for the spouse.
- A planet debilitated in the birth chart but strong in the D9 often improves with age.
